ものをつくるというのは、形を与えることだ。けれど、それは単に目に見える形だけを意味するのではない。考えを巡らせ、道筋を立てること。視点を定め、瞬間を切り取ること。手を動かし、素材に触れ、何かを生み出すこと。それらすべてが「つくる」という営みの中にある。「sakkei（さっけい）」という音の響きには、一つの意味に縛られず、状況に応じて形を変えていく在り方が込められている。つくることの根幹をなす「作形（デザイン、クラフト）」、思考を巡らせ道を探る「策計（リサーチ、ディレクション）」、景色を切り取り本質を浮かび上がらせる「撮景（写真）」。同じ音を持ちながらも、それぞれ異なる意味を孕み、関わる場面によって姿を変える。sakkei は、デザイン、写真、クラフトという異なる手法を用いながら、目に見えるものだけでなく、その背景にある思考や関係性までも形にすることを試みる。なぜ、それをつくるのか。どうすれば伝わるのか。どのように場に馴染むのか。固定された正解ではなく、文脈や状況に応じた最適な「形」を見出していく。だからこそ、sakkei という屋号もまた、固定されたものではない。名前も、意味も、時とともに揺らぎ、変化しながら、しかし根底にある思想は変わらない。「つくる」という営みの中で、形を探し、意味を問い、思考を深める。その過程の中にこそ、sakkei の在り方がある。
